GV's Sentinel M-16

I thought I posted this up the day it was picked up, but I guess I was wrong.  haha :P  This is one of the newest mod in the mooshi's family household.  Serial #98.  Made some arrangements to pick it up since the store only got 5 in, with this one being the last one, and it'll be my brother's once he can pay back.  hahaha  :P

Bunny, bunny, bunny...!  :)

The threading is really smooth and it's my first bottom firing mod.  It's got an iGo-L atomizer coiled at 0.8 ohms with 2mm  ekowool.

Tin o' Stuff: Essential Oils

A reader commented a few days ago on the Altoids Survival Kit Items (Extensive List) post and said that he carries essential oils in his tins.

Daniel stated:
Have you considered essential oils for your first aid kit? I keep some 1/4 dram containers with essential oils. See: https://squareup.com/market/the-image-foundry/edc-essential-oil-pack

For cut, bruises, headaches, colds, flu, sunburn, insect bites, purification, viruses and more you can get a lot of bang in these oils. I've seen some store smaller amounts in sealed straws if size is an issue.
Below are images that he'd sent me showing what and how he carries these oils.

In an Altoids tin.

Lined up in a Tube Vault ("Baby Soda Bottle")

These are GREAT additions to a tin - be it survival, EDC, first aid, or otherwise.  As Daniel had mentioned, these are great for various purposes.  I personally think those little bottles are AWESOME.  haha The perfect size to stash anywhere - there's really no reason not to.  I have to find one and carry that... Asian green oil stuff with me.  I really don't know what it's called (but I think it's made of Eucalyptus?) as it's directly translated from "dầu xanh" ... "oil green."

Thank you for the suggestion, images, and explanation of uses, Daniel!

:)  Be sure to check out the original list (here) to pick and choose what would best make your tin.

Cheers!

20 July 2013: Good Food, Even Better Company

Headin' out for some AYCE sushi with my best friends, J and P.  It's been a while.  :)  Normally we go out for drinks or something almost every week, but we've all been busy.  Great timing too - this week's been a little rough.  Not that bad, but it wasn't exactly smooth sailing either.

:(  I miss my DHLW notebook cover.

13 July 2013: Mighty Corny Dumparoonie!

Hung out with some cool kids today.  :)

Duty, Honor, Sacrifice

I went geocaching after work the other day and it brought me to a place that really made me think. It always does.   And I always find something new.

This is the Vietnam War Memorial tribute. I believe this was dedicated back in 2003.

Duty, Honor, Sacrifice. This was the first time that I'd actually read the plaque below the statue.

This is the eternal flame. It used to burn all day, every day, rain or shine, but a few years ago, the flame was put out due to city maintenance reasons, but the meaning still stands strong. Every now and then though, when I come in to work, I do see the flame. It's nice.

These bricks are laid out along the aisle way that leads up to the monument, each one with a dedication.

This was one that I'd never taken notice of before. But it really struck me.

This goes out to all of our everyday heroes, sworn and civilian, known and unknown, young and old.   Thank you for your service.

Cheers!

Mooshbot Minions: Cards

Anyone got any ideas for some card designs?  Roughly business card sized.  I was thinking that I could attach tokens to them whenever I send out packages.  I always write handwritten letters for all of my mail, but explaining what the Minions are takes up too much space.  :P

Comment here or shoot me an e-mail at aww.no.bueno@gmail.com

Cheers!

Use for geocaching, anyone?  :)

Sack Pack Attack!

Being sick means being productive.  Whipped up a few more of these Sack Packs yesterday.  I really dig the two-tone one.  :)  Instead of leather lacing, I've switched to paracord since there was less friction when opening and closing.  :D  I dig it!

Right now, I'd decided that my SP will carry a pack of Canel's gum, a mooshbot token, and the perfect amount of change to make anything between $0.01 and $0.99 (3 quarters, 1 dime, 2 nickels, 4 pennies).  :D  On the outside, using split rings, I'd also attached a mini (0.3mL) bottle of hand sanitizer and a little keychain light, looped on the paracord.  :D

The Sack Pack :)

I woke up sick this morning.  I was miserable.  And bored out of my mind!  By all means, I broke out some tools and set to work on making a leather coin pouch - something that I was interested in attempting for a little while now.  :)  Mostly since I saw the 'roo scrotum pouch.  :P

The tools.  :)  With the chocolate gelt as inspiration.  :D

The final product.  :D  It's a little crude.  But it's alright.  The clasp is to use to attach to my belt loop.  This clears up a whole pocket for me.  :)  The cow bead is something I made out of polymer clay a few months ago.  I wanted to use it as a stopper bead, but the hole was too small to accommodate both leather strands.

Da gelt!  :D

Happy 4th!

I've still got a few minutes left of this fine day.  :)

Thank you to all who have served, are currently serving, and are planning on serving.  :D

Had a nice day to myself.  Hopped in my car and drove down to the beach and people watched (while trying to find parking).  The whole town was on their beach cruisers and everyone was all decked out in the great red, white, and blue.  It was really quite amazing to see the community celebrating together - people of all ages, races, and everything.  It was wonderful.

:)  Strangers coming up to one another just wishing each other a great Independence Day.  It was wonderful.  Everyone was so happy.

And then those people who live on the beachfront homes just had chairs outside.  Family and friends gathered 'round to enjoy the wonderful weather today.  Laughing and smiling... :)  A great sight to behold.  It was nice to see them wave to the passerbys too.  :)  You don't see that too often - people extending a warm welcome to strangers.  The occasional nod and smile are witnessed, but not too often do you see that warm, genuine welcome, from the gesture, to the voice tone, down to the body language.

A great day was had, for sure.

Now, it's time to go to bed.  'Cause tomorrow, I'm taking another trek down to the beach for some fishing.  :D

03 July 2013: Target Practice After Work

Decided to hit up the range on a whim after work.  It was that kind of day.

Overall.  :)  He looks pretty dead to me.  Tried for the neck for one round and the head for another.

My final set of five rounds are marked "10."  I think I did pretty well.  :D  Quite happy with today's results.

4 More and then Some...

Just got word that an old co-worker of mine from my Disney days passed away due to Lymphoma.  Right after celebrating her 32nd birthday.  :(

One other old co-worker passed in an accident.

My boss's child was hit in a vehicle accident, condition unknown.

And my co-worker from the next office over is in critical condition due to a vehicle accident.  :(  He and I were poking fun at one another just the day prior... hours before the accident.  Too surreal.

To those firefighters in AZ... thank you for your service.  We've got your 6.

My condolences to all of their friends and family.  Best wishes to all.  2013, you've taken too many lives.

-- Fireman's Prayer --

When I am called to duty, God
whenever flames may rage,
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age.

Help me to embrace a little child
Before it's too late,
Or some older person
from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out

I want to fill my calling
and give the best in me,
to guard my neighbor
and protect his property

And if according to Your will
I have to lose my life,
Please bless with Your protecting hand
My children and my wife
